Samuel H. Gottscho

Gottscho-Schleisner collection are the work of two architectural photographer Samuel H. Gottscho [1875 - 1971] and William Schleisner H [1912 - 1962]. Samuel Gottscho acquired his first camera in 1896. From 1896 to 1920, he photographed a lot of time specializing in homes and gardens, where he particularly enjoyed the nature, rural scenes and landscapes. After attending several photo exhibitions of architecture, Gottscho decided to upgrade and improve its own work, and become familiar with several architects and landscape architects in the region. After 23 years as a traveling salesman, was Gottscho full-time professional photographer at the age of 50 years. Gottscho believed he created some of his best work of the age of 70. William Schleisner joined Gottscho in his company in 1935.
